Help out a Mizzou Student, who’s working to expose minority and underprivileged children to new endeavors while instilling a sense of community! Kam Phillips — a student in the School of Social Work as well as the current MU Homecoming Queen, a Truman Scholar and Mizzou ‘39 recipient — has a chance to go to the White House and get a national platform for Outside the Box. We have to do what is called “service learning.” It’s actually pretty cool and looks really good on applications. I chose to do mine at Love INC (http://www.columbialoveinc.org/) which is a Christian based organization that helps people in need. Specifically I am going to get to help provide childcare and be an extra pair of hands. I am really looking forward to this opportunity, and I hope that God can really use me as a tool for these children.
